| 1. thread machine in detail. (unthread the machine and re thread it) |

| 8. your machine has a snap out sewing shuttle system for easy cleaning and oiling. after sewing for some time lint, dressing, thread ends, needle fragments, and general dirt, can accumulate in the shuttle race causing the machine to run heavy and sew erratically |
| 9. remove the shuttle by tilting or pushing the two retaining toggles located left and right of the shuttle outwards, then just pull the shuttle towards you and it will come out, wipe and clean shuttle and race oil and replace making sure the needle is at its top position. |
| 10. sew the machine off on an oily cloth. |
| 11.when sewing zig zag the tension could need to be increased to pull up the stitch especially doing a long stitch or sewing thick hard fabrics. |
| 12.when purchasing needles best to buy a quality brand as your machine is only as good as the needle and threads being used. Recommended needle system 705 size 80 remember that nothing will change on your machine unless you change it make sure that you are sure of are doing before changing settings. |

| A good policy is to use light coloured thread to get used to your overlocker its easy to see. also you must use fine threads 120 or finer to get good results on any overlocker the thread must be of good quality also. |

don’t pull all the threads out of your machine and rethread it this will waste your time and frustrate you, tie the new thread with a good knot to the ends and draw them through slowly one by one and watch the knots go through this will give you a good guide on how the threading goes. |
| the thread must pull of the cones evenly with no twists or not be caught or twisted round any thing to obstruct its path a silicone spray is good to make threads run smooth. |
| after threading your machine sew the machine on some firm scrap fabric to get used to steering it and do some sewing and get a feel for the machine when you feel comfortable try it on your garments. |

| Bind hemmers are simple but complex machines being a single thread chain stitch they will run best using fine smooth threads and good needles. |
| Always use the lowest thread tension possible for the fabric being sewn this will help make the garment lay flat as well minimises the needle penetration indentations on the viewed side of the fabric. |
| When changing needles always wind the penetration adjustment back and reset to suit fabric being sewn this will increase the needle life. |
